A vision for the future of outdoor recreation

When Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers supported the idea of building an Office of Outdoor Recreation within the Department of Tourism and the state legislature agreed, Secretary Sara Meaney set to work building momentum behind the vision and strategy of the new entity, and the people, process and organizations whose involvement would determine its success.

In this PBS affiliate television interview that aired in August 2019, Sara explains the goals and intentions for the Office, underscores the data and rationale for the investment of resources, and provides insight into how the strategy will bolster outdoor recreation will benefit the entire state, across both rural or urban landscapes.
